Also back is our partner KXT 91.7.  They will have the KXT artist lounge on premise again.

…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead Austin, TX https://www.facebook.com/andyouwillknowusbythetrailofdead

. . . And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead’s explosive indie-prog is defined by the push and pull of Conrad Keely’s epic mysticism and Jason Reece’s primal punk surge. The band will embark on a short tour through the U.S. beginning in March. The band will play the entirety of 2002′s Source Tags & Codes and other songs from their decade-spanning catalog, and will return to the studio after the tour concludes.

Seryn Denton, TX https://www.facebook.com/serynsound

Seryn is a 6 piece band who calls Denton, Texas their home. When listening to the well layered textures of guitars, ukulele, accordion, bass, viola, banjo and various percussion, it’s hard to imagine This Is Where We Are is the band’s debut effort. The band’s strength resides in their vast musical talent and understanding of dynamics.

Wild Moccasins Houston, TX https://www.facebook.com/wildmoccasins

Behind the infectious rhythms and pulsating beats of Houston peripatetic pop troupe Wild Moccasins, there is undeniable chemistry. It’s a combustion of frenetic sounds that expands like an exploding star, on dance floors as the eclectic quintet sweats it on stage and on their wide-ranging album, 88 92. Wild Moccasins provide escapism of the most visceral kind, those times where you forget everything – that job, those bills, your loved ones – and live in the moment.

The Suffers Houston, TX https://www.facebook.com/thesuffers/

The Suffers are a ten-piece band from Houston, TX who are redefining the sound of Gulf Coast Soul, intertwining elements of Classic American Soul with Rock & Roll. Both sonically and visually arresting, the large ensemble packs each position of the rhythm section and horn section with a level of talent and taste that provides the perfect foundation for singer Kam Franklin’s massive voice. The band’s sincerity and emotion are laid bare in their music, which has garnered an audience so broad and varied that they may prove to be the panacea for a jaded and stratified live music scene.

The Black and White Years Austin, TX https://www.facebook.com/theblackandwhiteyears

Austin-based art rock band The Black and White Years are pleased to announce their latest full-length album. Available on January 21, 2014 via Modern Outsider, Strange Figurines, features a collection of ten tracks completing their most compelling work to date.

Goodnight Ned Dallas, TX https://www.facebook.com/GoodnightNed

Goodnight Ned is a group from Dallas, TX. Don’t bother trying to define their sound, just enjoy the instant familiarity that comes from over eight decades of influence. Since their formation in 2010, the band has grown and acquired hard-earned notoriety for their high energy live shows and fearless embrace of all influences. This band of brothers is keyboard fueled and guitar-driven. They engage audiences with harmonies galore, songs you will sing to and drumbeats that will get your feet movin’.

The Phuss Fort Worth, TX https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Phuss/128721487158568

The Phuss play fast, loud, dirty rock & roll. The three-piece from Fort Worth, TX, are best described as Garage Rock and loud as hell.

We are also proud to announce Downtown Dallas, Inc, Shiner Bock, Chevy Music Showcase & WFAA as our sponsors.  They’ve been an integral part of our success and we look forward to growing with them in the future.

Aside from incredible live music, the festival will also feature food trucks, arts & crafts, merch booths and outdoor bars. Plus, it is a family friendly atmosphere with plenty of special activities for kids. There’s even a dog park as well (pups welcome).

In the meantime, keep up to date with all the event’s happenings on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at #HG5. Facebook Event:https://www.facebook.com/events/283236001825076/

Toadies Announce Rubberneck US Headlining Tour; 20-Year Anniversary Reissue of Platinum Debut out April, 1st 2014 on Kirtland RecordsMore

14th January 2014

For Immediate Release:

Toadies Announce Rubberneck US Headlining Tour; 20-Year Anniversary Reissue of Platinum Debut out April, 1st 2014 on Kirtland Records

New York, NY – Fort Worth, Texas’ Toadies — Vaden Todd Lewis, Mark Reznicek (drums), Clark Vogeler (guitar/vocals), Doni Blair (bass) — are psyched to announce a major US headlining tour in support of the Rubberneck 20-Year Anniversary Reissue due out April 1st on Kirtland Records. The nationwide trek kicks off at this year’s SXSW and will have the band hitting notable venues across the US including the Troubadour in Los Angeles, First Avenue in Minneapolis and Irving Plaza in NYC. Toadies will be bringing out special guests and close friends the Supersuckers and Battleme for the entire run.

I’m really excited to take the Supersuckers and Battleme on the road with us. I figure we have all rock bases covered. Each band brings something different to the table, but they all fit on the bill perfectly. If you come to one of these shows, YOU WILL BE ROCKED! – Clark

The Toadies have been playing together for the past two and half decades. As they reach another milestone in their career with the reissue of Rubberneck, they’re excited to take it on the road and play the album that started it all from beginning to end for longtime fans.

20 years ago I would have never imagined that the album would have not only caught on, but held on for so long. The fans that album brought us have stayed with us over the years and continue to spread the word. I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces. – Vaden

Rubberneck was a platinum selling, breakthrough album for the Toadies thanks in part to the incredibly successful single “Possum Kingdom.” The album hit #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and went on to spend 49 weeks on the Billboard 200. The band built up quite a following, touring extensively throughout the 90s, opening for a number of noteworthy artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Zombie, Bush and The Butthole Surfers. They also had a few headlining and co-headlining runs with likeminded bands such as the Supersuckers (who are joining them for this momentous tour) and The Reverend Horton Heat.

In 2008, the Toadies made their Lollapalooza debut following the release of No Deliverance – their first album for Kirtland Records. That same year the band launched the hugely successful Dia De Los Toadies – an annual roving music festival in Texas. Now in its seventh year, “Dia” has become known for its performances by notable (and mostly Texas) artists like Gary Clark, Jr., The Black Angels, Eisley, Secret Machines, Ben Kweller, Bowling for Soup, Riverboat Gamblers, Sarah Jaffe, Centromatic, Helmet, Mariachi El Bronx, The Sword and Black Joe Lewis. Fall 2009 saw the band playing Austin City Limits for the first time and 2010 brought more touring after Kirtland decided to release Feeler, the follow-up to Rubberneck that had been shelved by Interscope.
Now with the 20-year anniversary reissue of Rubberneck set for release April 1st, the band is thrilled to be announcing a big US headlining tour. The remastered record includes five bonus tracks made up of cutss from the original Rubberneck recording sessions and exclusive live material. This will also be the first time the groundbreaking album will be available on 180 gram vinyl.

To further the celebration, the Toadies partnered with Texas based Martin House Brewing Company to release their very own beer aptly titled Rubberneck Red. Again, the tour will kick off at this year’s SXSW and a complete list of confirmed dates are below.
